ROSEBUDS
The Rosebud Orchestra is our Youth Orchestra for children aged 8 to 18. They are trained by a coaching team of enthusiastic musicians from the Rose Orchestra, including David Rehner, who is the Rosebud Music Director and the Rose Orchestra’s concertmaster.
The Rosebud Orchestra rehearses weekly during the orchestra season and performs several times a year as part of select Rose Orchestra concerts, as well as in community settings.
Our Rosebud Music Director & Conductor
Violinist David Rehner serves regularly as concertmaster with the Rose Orchestra, Oakville
Chamber Orchestra, and Arcady Ensemble. He has played with other ensembles including
the National Academy Orchestra of Canada, Ontario Philharmonic, Brantford Symphony,
and many more across the GTA. Holding degrees in music and education from U of T and
OISE/UT, David is the music director and conductor of The Rosebuds, an orchestral training
program in Brampton, and has taught strings and mathematics with the Peel District
School Board for over 25 years. He was named Brampton Arts Person of the Year for his
work bringing orchestral music training and programming to underserved communities,
and remains committed to sharing his joy for performing and teaching with future
generations of musicians.
