KUNE is an award-winning eleven-piece ensemble from all over the world that sounds like Toronto itself: bold, diverse, and in constant conversation. Made up of ten immigrant musicians from Iraq, Cuba, Peru, Burkina Faso, and China, alongside one Métis-Canadian artist, KUNE brings together musical worlds rarely heard on the same stage. Traditional instruments such as the tar, dizi, cajón, and ngoni intertwine to create a powerful sound.

 

At its core, KUNE is a meeting place: a celebration of roots, a space for exchange, and a living experiment in cultural dialogue. Through original compositions and adventurous arrangements, the band transforms difference into connection, inviting audiences into an exploration of identity, curiosity, and shared humanity.
