Canadian violinist Dr. Gloria Yip is a Toronto-based performer and educator whose career spans traditional concert stages and collaborations across musical genres. As a soloist, chamber artist, and orchestral musician, she has appeared across Toronto’s major halls, including Koerner Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, and the Four Seasons Centre, with projects ranging from the Canadian Opera Company to performances alongside Pharrell Williams and Carly Rae Jepsen. Gloria completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Toronto, following studies at the Glenn Gould School and Indiana University. Her mentors have included Mauricio Fuks, Paul Kantor, Barry Shiffman, and Dr. Timothy Ying. She is a former Ihnatowycz Emerging Artist Scholar and Palmason Graduate Fellow, and was awarded First Prize at the Prix Ravel Competition in Fontainebleau, France. Deeply committed to education and community, Gloria maintains an active private teaching studio and regularly presents lectures and benefit concerts focused on musician wellness. She is thrilled to join the Rose Orchestra as guest soloist.
